Description: Like the 1-General base program this setting uses frequency subtraction to perform better at reducing signals from low conductivity trash (like aluminium foil) and remains extremely stable on heavy mineralised ground. Default max frequency is normally 14kHz but I have increased this to better perform against smaller items such as gold/silver coins and gold chain. This is a deep hitting program and the stereo morphing gives an immediate indication on target depth down to 8″ in wet conductive ground, up to 6″ in dry freshly drilled. I have tested this extensively on pasture/stubble/clay/drilled/ploughed/beach and my own garden test beds using the 11″ FMF, 13″ FMF and HF2 coils. Max depth find has been a small button at 14″ and a few silver hammered coins down to 12″ with repeatable audio / VDI numbers.

Final tweaks in the field if you wish to fine tune further …

Sensitivity – mostly at 95 or above Note: if chatter is too much reduce this/increase reactivity slightly

Reactivity – default at 2.0 though on clean ground reduce to 1.5 – or, iron infested increase to 2.5 … Note: lower increases depth and sounds better but less target separation

Freq max – raised to 24khz but on super clean ground increase to 40khz …. or higher still on HF2 coil Note: higher frequencies are better for small gold – though not seen any gold cut quarters so far !

Ground balance – can reduce chatter – though that depends on your permission, I don’t need to balance on mine.

Frequency shift – can reduce EMI and I have found this excellent for overhead lines and electric fences.
