Just taken delivery of a Vaonis Vespera II with a full set of filters (CLS, Solar and Dual band) this will be great for local outreach events. First images look very promising indeed !

Well, I have started to do some video blogs on YouTube – more a case of if you can’t beat em, join em !!! I have put some metal detecting Vlogs up already but I will be adding some astronomy, wood turning, photography, ham radio, air rifle target shooting, gardening and probably some others to mix it up a bit. Well, today might be Friday 13th but there was nothing unlucky with todays metal detecting. Three coins found, a toasted “likely” Victorian penny, then a George V silver sixpence but what happened next sent shivers down the spine. My first gold coin. What an incredible day, just found a bronze age axe head dating between 900 ~ 700BC (though possibly even older) – the celebratory wine is already chilled and poured.
