Well, today might be Friday 13th but there was nothing unlucky with todays metal detecting. Three coins found, a toasted “likely” Victorian penny, then a George V silver sixpence but what happened next sent shivers down the spine. My first gold coin. What an incredible day, just found a bronze age axe head dating between 900 ~ 700BC (though possibly even older) – the celebratory wine is already chilled and poured.
On top of Filey Country park with some lovely aurora and lightning on the horizon.
